Saturday night at QED 2024 – with Alasdair Beckett-King, David Alnwick, Abi Clarke and the Ockham Awards
Saturday nights at QED are always special, and this year we are delighted to bring you an exciting evening of comedy and magic, plus the official announcement of this year’s Ockham Award winners!
Our evening entertainment will include:
Alasdair Beckett-King is a multi-award-winning stand-up comedian who has performed on the BBC's Mock the Week, Comedy Central Live, Radio 4's The News Quiz and at Glastonbury. Following several viral videos and a sell out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Alasdair embarked upon his first UK tour in 2023. In the same year, Walker Books published ABK's Montgomery Bonbon series of children's mystery novels. People ask him for directions all the time. He looks like the kind of guy who knows shortcuts.
David Alnwick is an award-winning actor, comedian, writer, and ritual sorcerer (and former QED emcee). A fifteen year veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Alnwick's sold-out shows are regularly performed in theatres throughout the UK. David's work combines dark narratives with supernatural illusion and, as one reviewer put it, ‘pushes the boundaries of magic as a genre.’
Abi Clarke is a stand-up comedian from Bristol who has achieved remarkable success across her social media platforms, amassing two million followers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Abi was recently named as one of the eleven comedy stars of the internet by The Independent and has had her viral sketches shared by the likes of ENews, Buzzfeed, LadBible, Good Morning Britain, and BBC One. Abi’s debut show (Role) Model was a sellout at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, receiving critical acclaim.
Overseeing this exciting and packed line-up will be our Saturday night MC - the ever-excellent Robin Ince.
Our Saturday night entertainment is free to all in-person QED attendees, and will take place immediately after our Gala Dinner. We look forward to seeing you all there!
