Our Nominated Charity

Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of food is wasted by the food industry every year. At the same time, millions are struggling to afford to eat. FareShare addresses these two issues by redistributing food industry surplus, which would otherwise go to waste, to the people who need it most.

Food waste accounts for between 6 and 7% of UK greenhouse gas emissions, with an estimated 2m tonnes of perfectly edible food needlessly wasted on UK farms and in factories every year.

You can find more information about FareShare by visiting their website.

Dress Code

Like previous dinners, the Charity Dinner has no formal dress code, though many people will choose to make an evening of it, and dig out their party dresses and bow ties. You are more than welcome to join in, or not. Whatever takes your fancy.

Saturday Night Party

Following the dinner we have an outstanding live entertainment programme planned. This is free to all QED attendees, you donʼt need a ticket for the dinner to attend the Saturday night party.
