Each year at QED, our Saturday evening dinner sees attendees and speakers sitting together to share a meal in honour of a nominated charity. Dinner spaces are limited and sell out quickly - this year in record time. For those who were lucky enough to purchase a ticket, we wanted to tell you a bit more about where the proceeds for this dinner are going.

In 2022, things have been difficult for a lot of people in the UK, and there are almost certainly more difficulties to come for many over the upcoming winter. The cost of living crisis and the energy crisis are tough - for individuals and for the charities who support those individuals.

That’s why our nominated charity this year is FareShare. FareShare work to alleviate food poverty by redirecting edible food that would otherwise go to waste towards charities who provide food for the most vulnerable. As well as benefiting those who need it, this work also helps save food from going to waste, meaning their carbon emissions and contribution to climate change aren’t for nothing.

QED would like to say thank you to those of you who bought a ticket for the Charity Dinner for helping us to raise money for this worthy cause at a time when it is especially needed.

After the Charity Dinner, every QED attendee is welcome to join our Saturday night evening entertainment, including the Ockham Awards announcement all included in the regular ticket price.
